Coach Charly Loera was at it again … another weekend, another round of installing cleats for this gal. But, seriously folks, we’re talking hot pink riding shoes. C’mon! I had to do it! Once Coach Charly had the cleats installed, and my new riding shoes properly fitted … we were off.
It may be fair to say that my prior clipless pedal experience involved on or more tipping over, knee and elbow scraping experiences. So, I was a little trepidatious about the whole clip-in – clip-out procedure (cue Mr. Pat Morita). But, in spite of my initial jitters, I am very pleased to report clipping in and out was a huge success! And, I’m in love with my new clipless pedals! At least that’s my review after the first 28 mile ride. With all this riding it’s a little hard to get my long runs in — especially when it’s raining outside. So, Sunday, when it was cold and rainy and this Cali transplant was just so over it, I headed to the gym for close to two hours on the dreadmill/elliptical machines. Nowhere near as enjoyable as the fresh air outside, but less cold, and a lot drier.
